Okay. I really tested these two products for a couple of years. I know. I know. I could have introduced them sooner, but I wanted to be sure that these formulas would give the best possible results over time. I had tried so many different shampoos from the TV super stars to the drugstore private labels and I always found myself as well as the testing group, going back to the sulfate-free hair-care products.

Why use sulfate-free shampoos?

Products containing sulfates are wonderful foaming agents. However, sulfates can cause swelling and irritation for the scalp and skin. Since we lose about 100 hairs every day, when sulfates get into your empty hair follicles, they can easily be absorbed and cause your hair to be more prone to falling out as well as more breakable, dull and brittle. They can cause color-treated hair to lose their luster and fade in color. It is best to use a sulfate-free shampoo on color-treated hair and then follow up with a deep moisturizing conditioner like our Hair-Repair “Therapy Hair-Care Conditioner”. Furthermore, sulfates strip the natural oils in your hair and can cause it to be frizzy looking.

Hair is not alive – only the cells at the hair bulb are alive. The strands are not. So the truth is there is no miracle cure to repair damaged hair. However, it can be coated and conditioned to look gorgeous. The pH factor of our nourishing conditioner compacts the cuticle layer of the hair which results in shiny, lively hair that is not weighted down. The conditioning ingredients form a protective layer over the cortex where the cuticle cells have broken away creating a protective layer or coating over these rough edges. Moisture is sealed-in and static electricity is eliminated. Fractionated Coconut Oil and Meadowfoam Seed Oil deeply moisturize your hair and scalp. The color of your hair looks richer and therefore younger and it just gets better over time. This conditioner also helps to revitalize and prevent loss of color in treated hair.

While the conditioner can be used every time you wash your hair, you can also intensify the treatment by putting a plastic shower cap over the conditioned hair and leaving it on for a full 20 minutes, once a week.

The conditioner can also be used as a “leave-in conditioner” for all hair types: After washing, conditioning and towel-drying your hair, put a little bit of Therapy Hair-Care Conditioner onto the palm of each hand and distribute evenly by gently working it into the freshly washed hair. Leave it in. Your hair will noticeably have more body and volume while feeling shiny and full!
