Why use sulfate-free shampoos?

Products containing sulfates are wonderful foaming agents. However, sulfates can cause swelling and irritation for the scalp and skin. Since we lose about 100 hairs every day, when sulfates get into your empty hair follicles, they can easily be absorbed and cause your hair to be more prone to falling out as well as more breakable, dull and brittle.

They can cause color-treated hair to lose their luster and fade in color. It is best to use a sulfate-free shampoo on color-treated hair and then follow up with a deep moisturizing conditioner like our Therapy Hair-care Conditioner. Furthermore, sulfates strip the natural oils in your hair and can cause it to be frizzier-looking, as well.
